

A ribbon cutting for The Lawn, an outdoor space for the Richland Public Library, will take place at 10 a.m. March 7 at 955 Northgate Drive, Richland.
Courtesy Richland Public LibraryThe Richland Public Library is opening a new multiuse outdoor space with a ribbon cutting on March 7.
Called The Lawn, the new outdoor gathering space is designed to extend library programming outside of the building. The space features outdoor lawn games for kids and families, tables and seating, and power access and Wi-Fi, supporting a variety of activities, from library events to a study space.
“The Lawn creates new opportunities for the Richland Public Library to bring people together in meaningful ways,” said Chris Nulph, library manager, in a statement. “This space allows us to offer programs that encourage learning, creativity, and community connection in an open, accessible outdoor setting.”
A ribbon cutting will be held at 10 a.m. March 7 at 955 Northgate Drive, Richland. Story time will be hosted on The Lawn at 10:15 a.m., and a community Holi: Festival of Colors celebration will be held at 1 p.m.
