The state agency responsible for everything construction, including enforcement of an embattled law limiting the installation of natural gas utilities in new construction, is looking for new members for its board of directors. 

Six board members of the Washington State Building Code Council saw their terms expire earlier this year, and there is also a vacancy yet to be filled.  

The council advises state lawmakers on building code issues and develops the codes used in Washington state. 

The governor’s office is seeking nominations to fill those seven seats, which were assigned to represent specific building industry sectors as well as public officials and the general public.
