The U.S. Postal Service is holding hiring events around Washington this week to fill nearly 400 jobs in the state. One of the events is in Pasco.

It’ll run from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Sept. 13-14 at the Pasco Post Office, 3500 W. Court St.

The event is free, and no appointment is necessary.

Mail carriers, handlers and clerks are in demand, and CDL drivers, maintenance technicians and other positions also are available.

Starting pay depends on the job, but mail carriers start out making $19-$20 an hour.

Applicants must be 18 or older and be able to pass drug screening and a criminal background investigation. In some instances, candidates can be 16 with a high school diploma. Applicants also must be available to work weekends and holidays.

For more information or to apply for a job, go to: usps.com/careers.

Applications are accepted online at usps.com/careers.
