Benton Rural Electric Association has completed its new West Richland complex, which will serve as the cooperative’s corporate headquarters and operations center.
The 40,000-square-foot, one-story facility at 2121 Cooperative Way will house Benton REA’s administrative and operations staff, including these departments: Member Experience, Engineering, Energy Efficiency, Accounting, Meter Shop, Warehouse, Human Resources as well as line workers.
Member Experience representatives and line crews will continue to serve members from the cooperative’s office on Seventh Street in Prosser.
The building features a contemporary design with wood accents that complement the surrounding architecture. Inside, neutral tones and blue accents create a bright, welcoming environment with abundant natural light.
The facility includes a lobby for members, meeting rooms for one-on-one consultations and a community room that can accommodate up to 190 people for nonprofit and community organizations.

Landscaping includes rock and drought-tolerant native grasses that require minimal irrigation.
The project cost under $20 million and was completed in June 2026.
Leone & Keeble Inc. of Spokane served as the general contractor.
The architect was Integrus Architecture PS of Spokane.
Benton REA is a nonprofit, member-owned electric cooperative serving about 12,500 members across Benton, Yakima and Lewis counties. The cooperative built the new complex to better support its growing membership and improve operational efficiency.
About 73% of Benton REA’s members live in or near West Richland, and 64% of its fieldwork is performed closer to the area, allowing the cooperative to improve coordination, response times and service.
