If you thought the completion of construction of the Broadmoor Boulevard overpass at Interstate 182 was the end of road work in this part of west Pasco, think again.

The city of Pasco has started work to improve the Sandifur Parkway and Broadmoor Boulevard intersections as part of the latest phase of development in the area. The project area includes Broadmoor Boulevard’s intersections with Sandifur Parkway as well as Buckingham Drive and includes installation of new traffic signals, dedicated turn lanes, bike lanes and other upgrades to support current traffic flow as the area grows.

The project will cost $4.1 million, with all funding provided by the Broadmoor Tax Increment Financing Program.

“Once complete, this section of the Broadmoor corridor will be safer and more efficient for vehicles, cyclists and pedestrians,” the city said in a release.

Construction is expected to continue through the end of 2025. No road closures are planned, though the contractor will implement traffic control measures whenever traffic is impacted by work on the project.

Tapani Inc. of Richland is the contractor and PBS Engineering and Environmental is the engineer for the project.
